Today I went to the movies with Choon. It was kind of random and I didn’t know what the movie was about, but it gave me a chance to go to a Cathay cinema. Way better than Golden Village by the way, nearly as good as Famous Players back home.

I went to see Koizora (Sky of Love).

I must say, I love Japanese. Just like the Japanese dramas that I love to watch so much, this movie was just fantastic. Clearly a little cheesy, but I really enjoyed it, and a tear even rolled down my cheek at one point. I won’t spoil the movie for you, but this is essentially a tale of love, and the way the Japanese do it gets me every time. I’m glad my girlfriend is Japanese, for that is definitely the way it has to be done.

One thing that I realized though about the movie was that although the situation itself was sad at some points, and although the guy may have done some pretty great things, only the girl makes me emotional. I can’t really explain why. It’s the love that the girl shows to the guy that really gets me every time, in the Japanese drama as well as the movies. Just that pure LOVE. I can’t really explain it any better than that. Just so pure.

Seriously, if you ever want to understand just what I look for in a girl, just what makes me emotional, or the type of things that resonate with me, go watch this movie or ask for some good Japanese drama. Hana Yori Dango I just finished, but again, brought me close to tears at some points just because of how much she loves Doumyouji.

*sighs* I’m pretty sure I want to live in Japan for at least a year.
